'Brahminy Kite' - Haliastur indus - in flight, Jaffna, Sri Lanka.

On the road from Jaffna to Anaiccottai there was a place swarming with Brahminy Kites. They and the crows were partaking of the offal thrown into a heap close to the lagoon. I took some time watching these birds in flight.

A 'Brahminy Kite' - Haliaster indus, Poonery, Jaffna, Sri Lanka.

I saw this bird sitting on some fishing nets near the Dutch Fort in Jaffna. The rosy dawn tinted the bird and the nets a reddish color.

I took these pictures on the old Dutch Fort, Batticaloa.

'Brahminy Kite', Malwala, Rathnapura, Sri Lanka.

I took this picture from the Malwala bridge, Rathnapura. The bird was perched on a large tree bordering the 'Kalu Ganga'.
