I spotted this eagle on the branch of a tree in the foliage near the Maligawila Buddha statue at Butthala, Sri Lanka. It was stationary for quite sometime and was not disturbed by the passage of people close by.

When  I picked up my grand-son from the Janadipathy Vidyalaya at Avissawella, I saw this young bird on a coconut tree in the school grounds. I came home, took my camera and went back within ten minutes. It was still there and I had an ample opportunity to take these pictures, using a 10X zoom on my Fuji finepix S1500.
