Gathering on the coral reefs close to the shore they have a good picking of fish swimming near by.

This bird, unaffected by the noise of traffic around was serenely fishing on the lake.

Quite a few water birds were spotted by me in this collection of water. The proximity of active human noise and bustle seem not to have affected these birds.

There is a small lake next to the Rio Ice-cream Parlour at Nallur. I spotted this bird feeding in the lake.

Pheasant-tailed Jacana - Hydrophasianus chirurgus, Nallur, Jaffna, Sri Lanka.

Next to the Rio Ice-cream parlor at Nallur, there is a small weed-covered lake. I have seen this bird regularly over the last four years. An Australian Doctor said that this bird is also called the 'Jesus Bird'. It walks on the large spreading lotus leaves and appears to 'walk on water' as Jesus did.

A Cormorant cooling itself  after a dive. It has no sweat glands and spreads its wings to catch the breeze.
