Found at about 6.30 am foraging in a paddy field.

Scaly-breasted Munia - Lonchura punctulata, Agra pedesa, Avissawella, Sri Lanka.

Smallish bird feeding on the stalks of paddy.

House Sparrow chick - Passer domesticus indicus, Home garden Avissawella.

With bright feathers, this chick was learning to loog for worms in the sand. It was frequently visited and fed by its parents.

Yellow-billed Babblers - Turdoides affinis taprobanus, taking a bath, home garden, Avissawella, Sri Lanka.

Called also as the 'Seven sisters' they are always seen in a group. They are the noisiest in the garden.
