The road to the seashore at Manalkaadu is full of bird life. I took this picture there on Dec 17 2012.

Cattle Egrets - Bubulcus ibis, Wariyapola, Sri Lanka.

Cattle Egrets are found aplenty in the paddy fields of this area. They gather round to pick the earthworms when the fields are being ploughes.
